Air source heat pumps are becoming increasingly popular with UK homeowners. They are a great source of energy and an alternative cooling solution for your home in any climate.

Sustainable Warmth with a team of fully accredited installers have a comprehensive understanding of all types of heat pump options, and can certainly help you when it comes to cost-budgeting. If you would like to know more about how you could benefit from installing a new air source heat pump at your home, please get in touch today.

How do Air Source Heat Pumps work?

Heat from the air is absorbed at low temperature into a fluid. This fluid passes through a compressor which increases the temperature and this higher temperature is used to heat water for your heating system (radiators) and your hot water outlets (sinks, showers, baths).

The benefits of Air Source Heat Pumps include:

  • Considerably reduces your energy bills

  • Can be used for both heating and cooling

  • Can work in all climates (Hot & Cold weather conditions)

  • A much lower carbon footprint

  • Can provide both hot water and heating

Heat pumps require electricity to run, but they use the electricity more efficiently than other heating systems, with a typical heat pump using only about a quarter of the energy needed for a traditional gas boiler.
